Getting to Know the Side Effects of Cialis

Cialis, or tadalafil, is the drug of choice for people who are having a hard time getting an erection due to health conditions like erectile dysfunction or benign prostatic hyperplasia. This pill is to be taken either once a day or only when needed. Aside from the dosage and how this pill is to be taken, people who are planning to take it should also learn about the side effects of this drug.
Although side effects are expected and some symptoms may not be required to be reported to the physician, it is still best to get to know which side effects are considered to cause a health hazard to the person using the pill. Always make sure that you consult your doctor before you take any pill so they could inform you of the things you need to know about the drug you are about to take.

Information on the Side Effects of Cialis
Some people may be allergic to tadalafil, which is the main ingredient of Cialis. Emergency medical help is needed when signs of allergic reaction occur after taking Cialis. Signs of allergic reaction include hives, having difficulty of breathing, and swelling of the lips, tongue, throat or the whole face.
Dizziness and nausea may also occur, especially during sexual activity. Pain, numbness or a tingling sensation on the chest, arms, jaw or neck of the person taking the pill could mean the person is having a serious adverse reaction from the drug.

Cialis should be discontinued if one of these side effects is experienced:

• Sudden loss of vision, sudden loss of hearing or ringing in the ears, heavy feeling on the chest or pain in the arm that radiates on the shoulder. Nausea and sweating may also be observed. A painful penis or an erection that lasts for more than 4 hours is a serious problem.

• Less serious conditions include redness on the face or chest, stuffy nose, sneezing or sore throat, headache, difficulty remembering things, diarrhea or stomach ache, muscle and back pain.

Side Effects Categorized by Body System

For the cardiovascular system, side effects such as angina pectoris, hypotension and hypertension, chest pain, palpitations and tachycardia are included and must be reported to the physician as soon as possible.
Dermatological concerns are one of the most obvious when side effects of the drug occur. Included on the list are rashes, pruritus and sweating.
For the gastrointestinal system, side effects include dyspepsia and diarrhea. Other symptoms also include dry mouth, difficulty swallowing, gastritis and gastroesophageal reflux, loose bowel movement and vomiting.
The body in general also experiences side effects of this drug and must also be reported to the doctor once experienced. These symptoms include facial edema, facial redness, fatigue and pain in limbs.

Any of these common side effects of taking Cialis should never be ignored and brushed aside perhaps as an effect of vigorous sexual activity. If there is discomfort and pain, it is important for patients to see their doctors right away for the proper remedial treatments and methods.
